At Palm Global Academy students in Years 10 and 11 follow the IGCSE curriculum from Pearson EdExcel. Our programme for each subject is both engaging and promotes independent learning and further enquiry.
At a Glance
IGCSE stands for “International General Certificate of Secondary Education”. It is equivalent to the GCSE qualification and is the ‘international’ version of this academic qualification. Students take a core of 5 International GCSE examination courses with a choice of 2 further subjects from the option list.
EdExcel approved online centre
Students have the option to take their IGCSE exams securely from home via remote virtual invigilation.

Outcomes
As part of the core subjects, students will continue to take the Thematic Quran Studies and Arabic program in years 10 and 11. These subjects are not externally assessed and do not lead to an IGCSE certificate.

Additional Subjects Incur An Extra Charge Per Subject For The Year. The Availability Of The Additional Subjects Is Dependent On Demand And Number Of Students.

How do we teach?
Lessons at Palm Global Academy are conducted by qualified teachers who are specialists in their subjects. We use state of the art platforms for easy delivery of lessons and provide continuous access to all resources for students. School work and homework is uploaded to an interactive portal which allows instant, dynamic feedback by teachers.
Islamic Learning
Thematic Quran Studies: Students delve into the meanings of the Quran by understanding the meanings and its lessons. Quranic Arabic: Building a strong foundation of the Arabic language that will help students to understand the Quran, act upon it and then convey its message.
Assessment & reporting
Ongoing checks for understanding; topic tests and mock papers. Termly reports with targets you can act on; parent meetings as needed
Exams
Being an approved online centre, students have the option to sit their IGCSE exams remotely. This means they can take their external exams in the comfort of their home. The other option is for students to take their IGCSE exams at their local exam centre. International students will have the option of sitting their IGCSE exams through the British council.
